Qellayta Band

Qellayta Band is a youth musical group established in late 2024 by the 'Sustainable Peace Foundation', led by artist Orhan Al-Bayati. It is a product of the 'Muroona' (Resilience) project, utilizing music as a tool to foster peace, culture, and peaceful coexistence among Nineveh's diverse communities by presenting a comprehensive musical model inclusive of all local languages and musical styles of Nineveh specifically and Iraq generally, aiming to introduce and revive them. The band typically performs heritage songs in Arabic, Turkmen, Kurdish, Syriac, and Shabak languages, has participated in numerous major events within Iraq, and has become a model for heritage art.
